I’m currently studying at the University of Bristol, where I hold a keen interest in film and theatre.
Having previously worked in collaboration with young playwrights at the Royal Exchange theatre, in Manchester, I’ve now written and directed plays in venues across Bristol as a student, including the Tobacco Factory theatre, where I was mentored by professional playwright, Mike Akers.
I like to tell stories that explore social issues through black humour and allegorical storytelling, driven by morally grey characters.
In the last play I wrote, Dismantling the Demon’s Cage, I explored the trauma of the partition in British-Pakistanis, through the metaphor of a jinn.
I am excited to challenge myself with new ideas, genres, and styles of storytelling.
